Candle
Those who will light the candles on the altar.
The candles symbolize the light of Christ---the same light they received at baptism and now receive again to lead them in their new life as a couple. Please make sure that the match, which you will use to light the candle, will not die out by using 3 matchsticks at a time. Please get the secondary candles and hand over to the Maids/Matron of Honor after the ceremony.
Veil
Those who will place a white veil over the couple.
The Couple's Veil (white) has come to be a symbol of purity. Its original meaning was the symbol of the presence of the Lord, as the cloud was a symbol of His presence. It is placed over the couple to symbolize their union and being "clothed as one." For the groom, pin it on his right shoulder. For the bride, pin it on top of her veil but don't cover her face. Please keep the cord after the ceremony and hand over to the Maids of Honor or Matron of Honor.
Cord
Those who will place a knotted cord over the heads of the couple.
The Cord is a symbol of the couple's bond - that indeed they are no longer two but one in their new life as a couple. Make sure the cord is laid over their shoulders and that the cord won't cover the faces of the couple. Please keep the cord after the ceremony and hand over to the Maids or Matron of Honor.
